How to Replace an Existing Gas Lamp with a Solar Post Light

If you currently have a gas lamp, you know how expensive it is to maintain or replace it. You also know that while gas lamps look pretty, they don’t provide the brightest or broadest light spread. That’s why it’s time to replace your outdated gas lamps with one of our long-lasting, bright, and cost-efficient solar post lights! Replacement is simple and the benefits are abundant. Here are a few tips on how to replace an existing gas lamp with a solar post light.

Before replacing your existing gas lamp, make sure that the existing spot receives at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight. It is also important to note that the taller your solar post light fixture, the broader its light spread will be. Once you have purchased your Gama Sonic Solar Post Light and confirmed that the existing position of the post receives enough sunlight, we provide you with a manual and documentation for an easy DIY installation process. We also recommend consulting a certified technician, handyman, or professional for the safe removal of the existing gas light.

Debunking the Common Misconception about Solar Post Lights

Due to the fact that many solar post lights are used in public or commercial areas like shopping centers, parks, neighborhood streets, and parking lots, a common misconception is that solar post lights are used ONLY for commercial areas. The reality is solar post lights can be used for commercial and residential areas. Gama Sonic’s solar post lights are optimal in residential areas because of their bright light and broad reach. All you need is an existing post and our products provide the rest! From brightening late-night family hangouts in the backyard to keeping the front porch lit after dark, solar post lights provide the ideal outdoor solar lighting and ambiance for any outdoor space.

Gama Sonic solar lights have integrated tempered glass solar panels that are built to last and designed for beauty.

Why Should You Replace Your Gas Lamp with a Solar Post Light?

There are several benefits to replacing your gas lamp with solar post lights:

  1. More Cost-efficient – Operated by batteries that recharge via sunlight, solar post lights are highly cost-effective compared to gas or electric lamps that operate using propane, natural gas, or electricity.
  2. Fewer Limitations – There are several limitations to gas or electric lamps. You can only install gas or electric lamps near a gas or electric connection. If you decide to switch from gas lamps to electric, the process is complex, costly and usually requires digging, trenching, and wiring. When you switch to solar post lighting, installation is simple, quick, and without the worry of costly routine maintenance. To put it simply, switching to solar post lighting is hassle-free.
  3. Design is Safe and Eco-Friendly – Gas lamps can remain hot hours after they are turned off – making gas lamps a danger to your landscape or even your loved ones. Solar post lights are a safe and easy way for you to decrease safety hazards outside of your home while also decreasing your carbon footprint. Aside from the fact that solar post lights power themselves through the converted energy from sunlight, the materials used to make them are also environmentally-friendly. Gama Sonic outdoor solar lights can have a lifespan of 10-15 years, rivaling less eco-friendly options and far surpassing incandescent bulbs.

What Kind of Maintenance Does a Solar Post Light Require?

No electrical wiring or electrician is required to maintain the solar post light. All residential Gama Sonic outdoor solar light products have a 2-year limited warranty. Gama Sonic solar lights have Lithium-ion batteries with 1,000 – 2,000 charging cycles (depending on the product) which will last approx. 3-5+ years. When needed, simply replace with the widely available batteries for your product.

Where Can I Put Up A Solar Post Light?

Gama Sonic Solar Post Lights can be placed anywhere outside your home where you already have an existing post! All you need to do is make sure that the outdoor solar light can receive 4-6 hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight on most days. They are perfect to light up your driveway, garden, backyard area, pool area, front porch, and more.

Can a Solar Light Reproduce the Look of a Gas Lamp?

Yes, they can! When you use the GS Solar Flame Style LED Light Bulb, you can create the look of a gas lamp without the cost, danger, and negative environmental impact of actual natural gas flames. The Solar Flame Style Bulb flickers with a rich warmth that perfectly mimics a small fire, but it draws all its power from the solar fixture instead of gas.
